I’m Sam — a photographer from North Norfolk, where I grew up surrounded by the countryside, shooting, dogs and the sort of days that are usually better remembered than planned.
Photography for me has always been about more than simply taking a good picture. It’s about noticing the moments that other people might miss — whether that’s a split-second laugh at a party, the way a couple look at each other when they forget the camera is there, or a gun dog completely focused on the job in front of it.
I like things to feel natural. I’m not particularly interested in turning a wedding, party or portrait session into a day of forced poses and awkward smiles. I’d much rather blend into the background, give you a little direction when it’s needed and let things happen.
My style sits somewhere between natural and artistic — real moments, but with a creative eye behind them.
So whether I’m quietly working my way around a party, wandering through the countryside with a couple, photographing a wedding or following a spaniel through a muddy field, the idea is the same:
Relax, enjoy yourself and let me worry about the photographs.
